The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships meets its last four, led by Andrey Rublev, as the Russian player continues his impressive winning run, making his 23rd consecutive ATP...

On Thursday, the Russian moved past Marton Fucsovics in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 securing his ticket into the semi-final against countryman Aslan Karatsev.

The latter battled to beat the fourth-youngest quarter-finalist in Dubai history, Jannik Sinner 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2, and reach the first ATP 500 semi-final - the Russian entered the tournament with a wild card.

Karatsev started the season playing high-quality tennis, which has led the 27-year-old to rise in the ATP Rankings from No. 114 in February to currently reaching a career-high of world No. 42.

Coming from the qualifying round, the Russian made a strong campaign in his first Grand Slam appearance at the Australian Open, reaching the last four, stopped by world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.

Last week, the Russian partnered Rublev to play doubles at the ATP Qatar Open in Doha; the duo captured the doubles title outlasting Marcus Daniell and Philipp Oswald 7-5, 6-4.

SINNER GIVES FAREWELL TO DUBAI

The Italian player keeps displaying top form; the world No. 32 earned his first title of the season at the ATP Great Ocean Road Open, held in Melbourne, early in February.

Last week, the first teenager to win two ATP Tour titles since Djokovic (2006) reached the last eight at the Open 13 Open Provence, falling to Daniil Medvedev - who would go on to claim his 10th ATP Tour title in Marseille.

The 19-year-old outlasted Roberto Bautista Agut 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 to reach the quarter-final in Dubai facing Karatsev.

The youngest man in the Top 100 is next to play at the ATP 1000 Miami Open, held from March 22 to April 4.

The two remaining spots at the Dubai semis belong to qualifier Lloyd Harris and third seed Denis Shapovalov.

The former became the first qualifier to reach the semi-final defeating Kei Nishikori in three sets 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Throughout the tournament, the No. 81 scored three wins in a row, stunning world No. 3 Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-4 at Center Court - first Top 10 win for the South African, Serbian player Filip Krajinovic 7-6 (5), and Nishikori.

Shapovalov, who is yet to lose a game on serve in three matches, defeated Frenchman Jeremy Chardy in straight sets 7-5, 6-4 advancing to the last four.

On Tuesday, the world No. 12 edged Jan-Lennard Struff with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

Playing the round of 16, the 21-year-old powered past Polish player Hubert Hurkacz 6-4, 6-3.
