Gameweek 33 brings about some unique challenges with seven clubs on doubles and three clubs not playing at all, among 12 fixtures.

Arsenal, Brighton, Burnley, Leicester, Manchester United, Newcastle and Southampton all have doubles, while Leeds United, Aston Villa and Wolverhampton have byes.

Previous week lessons

Tottenham may have a single this gameweek, but Son Heung-Min reiterated that he is the form player with a top score of 21 points, returning double digits for third straight gameweek. The Korean’s ownership was at 28.4%.

Chelsea are not done with, with duo Mason Mount and Timo Werner delivering excellent returns of 19 and 15, although you’d only genuinely consider the former.

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has lost his hot form, with a gameweek 32 score of 1. The England international’s recent scores are 1, 2, 11, 2 and 3, which decreases his captaincy appeal on the double.

New Options

Leicester arguably have the best match-ups of the sides on the double, taking on Newcastle and Everton away, meaning the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Kasper Schmeichel need to come into your plans.

Maddison, who is the most traded-in player this week, is the Foxes’ top scorer this season with 130 points, including 22 points from their past three gameweeks.

Manchester United have Norwich at home, followed by Liverpool away, bringing Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes into considerations, although both will come at significant price.

Two of Fernandes’ four double-figure hauls this season have come in his last six appearances, where he has had 22 shots and 13 key passes.

Newcastle defender Fabian Schar has garnered interest this gameweek given his price and recent scores, aided by a recent goal and clean sheet. Unlikely to yield big points. Arsenal’s Gabriel is a more expensive defensive option to bring in.

Who to captain?

This week’s scenario means there might be a range of selected captains among coaches. Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool are on a single and up against United, who are never easy despite being below their best.

Leicester’s Maddison will be a popular pick given their fixtures, along with Fernandes on a double gameweek, given his high ceiling.

It’s hard to ignore the form of Harry Kane, with five goals and eight assists in Tottenham’s past seven games, along with Son who has 48 points in their past three matches.

Injuries

Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette has been unwell and is unlikely, while Kieran Tierney has been ruled out with a knee injury.

There’s some doubt on Liverpool pair Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah who will likely play in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, before an assessment for the United game. Jurgen Klopp did intimate Salah will be fine, so don’t jump at shadows.

Man City picked up midweek injuries to Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, the former having more Fantasy relevance. The Belgian reportedly didn’t suffer a muscular injury, instead needing stitches in his calf.

Tottenham’s Matt Doherty has a knee injury and will be unavailable, so he’s someone you need to trade, with a few aforementioned options.
