Timo Werner is a German soccer player playing for Tottenham on loan from RB Leipzig. He is a Germany international striker.
Club Career
After starring for RB Leipzig from 2016 to 2020, including being named in the Bundesliga Team of the Season in 2019-20 when he netted 28 goals, he joined Chelsea in 2020.
He failed to impress across two seasons at Stamford Bridge and re-joined Leipzig in August 2022, managing only 23 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions. He did play a role in the Blues’ 2021 UEFA Champions League success.

Upon his return to Leipzig, Werner only scored nine Bundesliga goals in 27 games in the 2022-23 season, but scored five in the club’s DFB-Pokal run to the final which it won 2-0 over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Opportunities at Leipzig in the 2023-24 season under Marco Rose were limited so in January 2024, Werner joined Tottenham on a six-month loan deal with the option to make the move permanent in the summer.
International Career
Werner represented Germany at basically every under-age level, making his senior international debut in 2017. He’s since made over 50 appearances and scored more than 20 goals for Germany. He played at the 2018 World Cup but missed out in 2022 due to injury. He also played at Euro 2020.
