A Basket Cut is a basketball cut or a cut that happens when a player goes toward the basket.
This usually starts from the perimeter and ends all the way to the basket. It is commonly known as a ‘Deep Cut’.
The purpose of a basket cut is to get open for a potential pass and shot opportunity near the hoop. The cutting player often starts from the wing or corner and then quickly changes direction, catching their defender off-guard.
