Back screen

A Back Screen, also known as a ‘Rip Screen’ is a kind of offensive move used in basketball. This happens when a player goes to the low post or the area on either side of the foul lane that is near the basket, in order to set a screen for another player within the perimeter.

It usually involves two players: the ‘cutter’ and the ‘screener’. The screener will remain stationary on the court while the cutter will move towards the basket, using the screener to protect him.
