Basket

Basket in basketball is also referred to as the ‘Hoop’, that part of the basketball court where the ball is shot.

The basket is the goal that players aim to shoot the ball through in order to score points.

It consists of a metal hoop or rim, which is 18 inches in diameter and attached to a backboard at a height of 10 feet from the ground. A net is suspended from the rim, typically measuring 15 to 18 inches in length.

The primary objective of the game is to shoot the ball through the opposing team's basket while preventing them from scoring on their own. Points are awarded based on the location from which the ball is shot.

A successful shot from inside the three-point line is worth two points, while a shot made from beyond the three-point line is worth three points.
