Memphis Attack

Memphis Attack is another term for the offensive strategy known as “double dribble motion”.

It was developed by Vance Walberg who served Pepperdine University as a head coach. He developed this defense when he was the high school coach of Fresno City College.

The strategy was popularized by John Calipari when he was the head coach of the University of Memphis, giving it its alternate name – Memphis Attack.

It is a kind of offensive strategy that focuses on spreading the players of the offensive team in the half-court so that skips or helping on dribble penetration will be difficult for the defensive team.

This strategy allows a player an excellent opening, without any defensive players near him, which in turn will easily allow him to do a dunk, layup or a pass.
