Ymer was born on April 10, 1996. His hometown is Skara, Sweden. His older brother is Mikael Ymer, who is also a professional tennis player. Aside from Brydniak, he has also been coached by Galo Blanco and Robin Söderling.A right-handed tennis player, Ymer stands 180 cm. His weight was last listed at 78 kg. He also has a two-handed backhand. Since he turned pro in 2014, he has earned around US$1.2 million in prize money.
Career
He made his ATP debut shortly before turning pro. This was in 2013 at the Swedish Open. He lost in the first round. The following year, he received a wildcard to play in the Swedish Open again where he made it to the second round.The following year, he made his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open 2015. He made it to the first round. He would do this again in 2018 and again in 2020. Also in 2015, he made it to the first round of both Wimbledon and the US Open. In 2018, he made it to the second round of the French Open.
In 2022 at the Maharashtra Open, he managed to defeat Aslan Karatsev. This marked Ymer’s first top 20 defeat.
