Thiago Seyboth Wild is a Brazilian tennis player who had been noted for winning the 2018 US Open Junior singles title. As a junior player, he made it through the semifinal for the Roland Garros as a single player, and the US Open and French Open for doubles.
ATP Challenger and Wildcard Entries
In November 2019, Wild won his first-ever Challenger title in Guayaquil, making him mark a position at 235th place at the ATP Ranking. He was also one of the best players in Brazil alongside Thiago Monteiro and Joao Menezes.
Even at a young age, Wild is relentless and competitive. In February 2020, he received a wildcard entry at the ATP 500, where he had defeated Alejandro Fokina. Their match became the longest match in Rio de Janeiro’s history with 3 hours and 49 minutes. Unfortunately, he loses to Borna Coric in the next round. Nevertheless, it made him enter the World Top 200 for the first time.
Controversies
Wild was being investigated for domestic abuse after his ex-girlfriend, Thayane Lima, accused him. He had been issued with a restraining order so he wouldn’t be able to see his ex-girlfriend. Lima said in an interview that she had almost broken her finger to show how she was physically abused by Wild.
