James Hill

James Hill is a professional football player who presently plays for AFC Bournemouth as the team's central defender. He rose to prominence after competing in a 6-1 victory for the England U20. He also competed in the 2023 UEFA European Championship qualifications.

James Clayton Hill was born in Bristol, England, and interestingly, his father Matt Hill was a former football player. His father is one of the earliest influences on why he pursued football.

Career

Hill's career began with Fleetwood Town in August 2018. At age 16, he became Fleetwood's youngest player ever. In 2019, he signed a professional with Fleetwood Town and debuted 2 months later in a winning match against Peterborough United. He also went against his father's former club, Blackpool, but was defeated by a 2-1 score.

In January 2022, he signed for AFC Bournemouth for a 4-year contract.
