Evan Ferguson is a soccer player playing for Brighton & Hove Albion FC. He is an Irish forward.
Club Career
Born in County Meath, Ferguson played for St Kevin’s Boys and then Dublin-based club Bohemians in his youth career. He made his first-team debut for Bohemians against Chelsea in a friendly in July 2019 as a 14-year-old.
In January 2021, Ferguson signed with Premier League club Brighton, having also had interest from English giants Liverpool. He debuted in August 2021 in the EFL Cup.
In August 2022, he netted his first goal for the Seagulls in a 3-0 win over Forest Green Rovers in the EFL Cup. He penned a professional long-term deal with Brighton on the day he turned 18. He has signed on until 2028.
In 2023, Premier League legend Alan Shearer expressed his admiration for Ferguson, stating: “Ferguson is a special talent, one that needs to be nurtured. He’s at the right club at the right time but, as far as the future goes, he can be anything he wants to be.”
International Career
Ferguson played for the Republic of Ireland at various under-age levels. He made his senior Ireland debut in November 2022 against Norway.
