Frank Lampard’s team have got the better of Rennes 3-0 at home in Group E.
Werner, who joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020, put the Blues in the lead when he found the back of the net from the penalty spot after just 10 minutes.
The 24-year-old Germany international was brought down by Dalbert, and the striker himself stepped up to take the spot kick and made no mistake in converting it.
Dalbert gave away a penalty on 41 minutes after committing a handball offence, and Werner again scored from the spot.
Tammy Abraham wrapped up the scoring for Chelsea in the opening minutes of the second half, as Chelsea won 3-0.
The result means that the Premier League club are at the top of Champions League Group E at the moment with seven points from three matches, level on points with second-placed and last seasons Europa League winners Sevilla.
Werner has taken to Twitter to revel in the win for Chelsea against Rennes on Wednesday evening.
