New Options
Manchester United’s France international Paul Pogba has had a stop-start campaign but his goal last weekend off the bench arguably marked a return to form and regular football. He’s cheap and worth a look.
Likewise, Trent Alexander-Arnold returned from his calf injury with an almost-assist, with his cross put in for an own goal, meaning he didn’t get the assist. He’s cheap and we know his quality from 2019-20.
Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud is a man in form and may keep out Tammy Abraham again, while Wilfried Zaha showed he’s back after coronavirus with two goals. Zaha started the season well, and is worth having on your radar. Do we dare mention his Palace teammate Christian Benteke?
Previous week lessons
Never lose faith in Kevin De Bruyne. He is a star Fantasy performer and he proved that with a goal and an assist against lowly Fulham. He’s enjoyed playing weaker opposition in recent weeks, leading to a return to form. City play Manchester United this weekend.
It’s hardly a new lesson but it’s worth reiterating the Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min never stop either. The pair both got a goal and an assist in Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal. They’re cheaper than ever, so swoop now.
On the flipside there’s an issue for Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is struggling for goals in a side who are battling for results. Trade out.
Who to captain?
There’s the usual raft of options for captaincy, but there’s plenty of decent ones on Saturday, enabling good loophole options, led by Bruno Fernandes and De Bruyne but they do play each other. Will they cancel each other out?
Everton’s recent struggles mean Chelsea loom as an attractive option too, although which player is the pertinent question with the Blues. There’s some top defensive options but their ceiling isn’t as high as someone like Timo Werner.
Kane and Son look the best options with Spurs taking on Palace, while Mohamed Salah is back and takes on struggling Fulham which is very tempting.
Injury front
Chelsea’s in-form midfielder Hakim Ziyech is the big talking point, having succumbed to a hamstring injury last weekend. He’d become a popular Fantasy option, so many are looking for trade options.
Blues boss Frank Lampard said: “It will be about two weeks, so I think that’s positive, particularly with Hakim.”
Leicester defender Timothy Castagne may be ready to return, while Edinson Cavani faces a late fitness test for Manchester United.
Liverpool keeper Alisson Becker is another who has a fitness test, having missed a few games with a thigh injury.
