A Low Percentage Shot is a basketball term used to describe a shot that is unlikely to go into the basket, such as one that is released by a player who is outside his shooting range or is off balance.
It is a shot made with a very low likelihood of making it into the hoop.
An example of a low percentage shot is a long-range three-pointer. Shots that are made in heavily contested or trafficked areas are also considered low percentage.
Example of Use:
- Kobe Bryant attempted a low percentage shot, shooting a three-pointer from beyond the half-court line. It missed.
