Carmelo Anthony is reportedly set to join close friend LeBron James at the Los Angeles Lakers.According to

According to Bay Frazier, Anthony’s manager, he signed on a one-year deal with the Lakers. He will be joining a rebuilt roster that is said will include Trevor Ariza, Dwight Howard, Wayne Ellington, Malik Monk, and Kendrick Nunn.

Monk and the Lakers agreed on a deal on Tuesday before the team signed in Kendrick Nunn with a two-year $10 million contract. Previously, Miami Heat had made an offer to Nunn, but it was rescinded. It was also reported that Nunn declined higher offers to join the Los Angeles Lakers.

Besides Carmelo, Nunn, and Monk, Talen Horton-Tucker has also agreed to a deal with the Lakers. The restricted free agent reportedly signed a three-year $32 million contract, an extension to stay with the team.

Anthony came out of retirement in 2019, signing a one-year, non-guaranteed deal with Portland Trail Blazers. The 10-time All-Star, 37, can still shoot and score and wanted to play a meaningful role with the Blazers. In the 2020-21 season, Anthony averaged 13.4 points each game, shooting 40% from the 3-point range.

The Lakers had signed big players for the next season, which involved trading some players. The team had already agreed to trade Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook. On the other hand, Alex Caruso agreed to a four-year deal to join Chicago Bulls.
