Matwé Middelkoop is a Dutch professional tennis player who attained the ATP World Number 27 as of September 2021. Middelkoop was able to compete in two Grand Slam quarterfinals in men's doubles. He is also seen competing in the mixed doubles semifinals at the 2019 Wimbledon Open. On the other hand, his highest ranking in the singles was at World Number 197.

Professional Career

Middelkoop played a singles tournament for the Futures circuit, however, he switched to doubles when he debuted at the 2008 ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament. He is well-remembered for joining the 2008 Ordina Open, where he earned a lucky loser entry into the main draw. In the qualifying round, he was defeated by Benjamin Becker. He entered the main draw as a lucky loser again after Jarkko Nieminen was forced to withdraw his entry due to an injury.

Grand Slam and Masters Tournaments

2021 was a favorable year for him, as he made a succeeding victory in his professional career, especially in the doubles. He works hand-in-hand with his partner Marcelo Arevalo to reach the quarterfinals of the 2021 Australian Open and the semifinals in the 2021 Italian Open. They managed to defeat players like Fognini and Musetti and Koolhof and Rojer.

Middlekoop was able to enter the Top 30 as of August 2021.
