Darian King
Darian King is tennis player from Barbados. Born on March 26, 1992, he plays on the ATP and has a world ranking of 1234. Coached by Syndey Lopez, King was invited to join the ITF Touring team following his success on tour in South America and the Junior Davis Cup in the pre-qualifying event in Honduras. He went undefeated in the singles matches during the pre-qualifying events. If he accepts the invitation, he will be joining the International 16 and Under Junior touring team, which is scheduled to leave for Europe in May.
King has played in a number of events in 2010, starting from the Mitsubishi Lancer International Junior Championships in March, followed by the USTA International Spring Championships in April. He partnered with Matthias Wunner at the La Vie Sport Junior Cup Villach in May of 2010 and then with Jaden Grinter at the 31st International Spring Bowl. He reached the quarter-finals at the 11th Gerry Weber Junior Open where he lost in the quarter-finals to Filip Veger.
A few months later King won his first title for the year at the Youth Olympic Games Consolidation Draw, defeating Stefan Micov in the final round. The right-handed player sports a fierce double handed backhand and loves to play on hard surfaces. He currently resides in Bridgetown, Barbados.
