At Roland Garros, Daniel Nestor of Canada, and his partner Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia overtook the defending champions of the French doubles titles in a 7-5, 6-2 match. Former champions Czech Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes of India were not able to fend off the No. 2 seeded partners Zimonjic and Nestor. This is the third Grand Slam title the new champions have earned together as a team.

In the women’s doubles competition, the powerful Venus and Serena Williams won their fourth consecutive major doubles title, which Serena then referred to as “a Williams slam.”

During the final match in the women’s doubles tournament, the sisters were able to defeat Kveta Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in a game that ended in a 6-2, 6-3 score. Regarding their performance, Venus said, “It’s really tough when you play one Williams… When you play two, it’s really not an easy win.”Venus and Serena>

Although both sisters’ performance in singles was not exactly satisfactory, the victory was a huge enough compensation, especially since they will be ranking No. 1 for the very first time after enjoying a partnership that has been around since the 1980s.
