The 25-year old Australian player will be advancing to the semi-finals to face Angelique Kerber. Barty and Kerber are set to play against each other on Saturday.

Barty had noted that Kerber is one of the best competitors in tennis, as she always manages to stay at her best. One of Kerber’s techniques is to make her opponent too defensive to the point that they are moving too much around the court. Regardless of Kerber’s techniques, Barty had prepared to get ready for her next match at the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Kerber had won the quarter-finals after her opponent, Petra Kvitova, injured herself. The Czech Kvitova’s match was heavily affected due to a stomach issue, which she had been complaining about for several days.

On the other hand, Russian top-seed Daniil Medvedev had won against Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta. Medvedev is now bound to play against compatriot Andrey Rublev. Meanwhile, Rublev had crushed his opponent, Benoit Paire with the ending result of 6-2 3-6 6-3.

Another shocking result was when Naomi Osaka, who is currently ranked 2nd when she was defeated by Jil Teichmann. However, she had gotten herself enough sleep at night, knowing she had tried her best throughout the match. The 23-year-old player has not been competitive since her withdrawal from the French Open and lost at the Tokyo Olympics.
