She is a former world no.3 as a junior player. She started her professional career playing in the ITF circuit. She did not make her Grand Slam main draw debut until 2018 when she made it to the second round of the US Open.

In 2021, she reached her first WTA 1000 Semifinals at the Qatar Open. In the same year, she made it to the finals of the Cincinnati Open. The following year, she made it to the semifinals of the 2022 Madrid Open and the quarterfinals of the Italian Open. In the same year, she made it to the fourth round of the French Open.
