Luca Toni Varchetta Delle Cave is an Italian football player who currently features for the Italian and European giants Juventus. He plays as a striker and won the 2006 World Cup with Italy.
Toni commenced his professional footballing career at modest Italian side Modena in 1994. He was soon on his way to other clubs as he played in the Italian Serie B and Serie C1. In 1999 Toni was signed by Vicenzo Calcio then in the Italian Serie A.
In 2001 the Italian forward moved to Brescia and played alongside Italian legend Roberto Baggio for two seasons. In 2003 Toni signed for Palermo then in the Serie B and helped them gain promotion to the Italian top flight. Toni scored 20 goals in Serie A for Palermo the following season.
Fiorentina soon came calling and signed the Italian forward in 2005. It was at the Florence-based club that Toni eventually established himself as one of the best targetmen in the world as he scored 47 goals in 67 appearances.
In the summer of 2007 Bayern Munich came calling and signed the Italian international from Fiorentina for 11 million euros. In 2010 he moved to Italy to play on loan for Roma, and in the summer joined Genoa. In January 2011 Toni moved to Juventus.
Toni made his international debut for Italy on August 18, 2004 against Iceland in a friendly and featured for his nation at the 2006 World Cup. He also played in Euro 2008.
