Steven Vincent Taylor is an English football player who currently features for the A-League club Wellington Phoenix. He plays as a central defender.
Steven Taylor started his professional club football at Newcastle United after progressing through the club’s youth academy. He had made his debut for the Magpies until 2004 and was load out to Wycombe Wanderers for the 2003-2004 season.
Taylor made his debut for Newcastle in March 2004 when he came on as a substitute in a UEFA Cup match against Real Mallorca. He made his debut in the English Premier League the same month against Bolton Wanderers. He developed to become a regular for Newcastle and played 267 games for his boyhood club before moving to Portland Timbers, Ipswich Town, Peterborough United and the Phoenix.
Taylor is in his second season at Wellington.
