In the world of professional Brazilian football, Everton Santos da Costa is a striker who has had a story of hit-and-miss, when it comes to playing at the highest level of the game. At Adap Galo Maringa, Everton began his playing career, in 2003, in the youth academy. For two seasons, he was a popular member of the youth academy and even spent some time on loan, in 2006, at Gremio’s youth academy.

He returned to Adap Galo Maringa, in 2006, to make his professional debut and immediately after that, in 2007, he went back on loan to Gremio. The following year, Everton spent his time on another loan deal, this time at Paulista Futebol Clube, in a bid to make his name in the world of football. However, opportunities were hard to come by and Everton had little working for him in terms of playing time. Despite not being a prominent part of the first team, he did end up receiving a winners medal for the Rio Grande do Sul state league title.

However, his talent could not be ignored and Everton went all the way to Norway, signing up another loan deal in 2008-09, with Fredrikstad. He played almost 40 games and scored six goals, not a performance that would get him a permanent move to the country.

Eventually, Everton returned to Brazil and signed up with Caxias in 2010-11, scoring just 9 times in 28 games. He did, however, spend a bit of 2010 at Internacional where he played 10 games in 2010, on loan, becoming a part of the Copa Libertadores title winning team. Then there was another short loan spell to Esporte Clube Bahia where he had 11 games and 2 goals to show for, before moving on a permanent deal to Coritiba.
