Alan Tate is an English football player who currently features for the Premier League club Swansea City. He plays as a defender.
Tate commenced his professional club football career at Manchester United and was part of the Red Devils team from 2000 until 2004. However, he failed to make a single Premier League appearance for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side, spending time on loan at Royal Antwerp and Swansea.
After two loan spells at Swansea, Tate joined the Welsh club on a permanent deal in February 2004. He soon developed to become one of the long-serving and important players for the Swans, racking up over 250 league appearances to date. In November 2012 he joined Leeds United on loan until January 2013.
Tate returned to the Liberty Stadium to help win the League Cup with Swansea in 2012-13.
