That game is Leicester City-Norwich City, which impacts a few popular options such as Kasper Schmeichel, Jamie Vardy, James Maddison and Teemu Pukki.
However, there’s three re-arranged fixtures beyond this weekend, with Southampton-Brentford, Everton-Leicester and West Ham-Norwich. As a result, the Toffees, Hammers and Brentford are on doubles.
New Options
Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is hardly a new option but he’s surprisingly the eighth most-owned shot-stopper in FPL. City’s recent domination means he’s a safe option if you’re chasing points from clean sheets. He polled 9 points last gameweek too.
Crystal Palace forward Odsonne Edouard was the equal top scorer for outfield players last gameweek with 14 points. He won’t do that every gameweek but he has put together some form for a cheap striker, at 6.4m with scores of 14, 2 and 8.
West Ham midfielder Jarrod Bowen is similar but on a double. He’s priced at 6.6m and isn’t a premium option but has some good form with a five-game average of 6.8 points per game.
Previous week lessons
The big lesson was do not write off the big guns. Cristiano Ronaldo (12.5m), Romelu Lukaku (11.5) and Kevin De Bruyne (11.9) have all lost popularity this season but scored well last gameweek with scores of 12, 8 and 8 respectively.
Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min looms as an essential purchase with his good form and Spurs’ catch-up backlog of games. Son’s recent form has seen scores of 6, 8, 7, 13 and 8. Get on!
Who to captain?
This is particularly tough this round with Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool making the trip to face second-placed Chelsea who are typically tough to break down. It is Salah’s final game before the African Cup of Nations too.
Some coaches may have been burnt by Salah’s penalty miss against Leicester which netted a score of 0 points last gameweek. But that happens.
On the flipside if you don’t fancy the Egyptian, Manchester City have options like De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Joao Cancelo but they’ve also got a tricky assignment away to in-form Arsenal.
Of course, from the three clubs on the double, Michail Antonio looms as a prime option, while Everton’s Demarai Gray could be considered too.
Injuries
There’s a few issues to cover with popular options led by Jamie Vardy who will miss four weeks with a hamstring injury. It’s definitely time to sell if you own.
Chelsea’s Reece James also succumbed to a hamstring injury which will likely sideline him for three to four weeks. He needs to be traded.
Palace’s Conor Gallagher was a surprise absence in midweek with an unspecified illness so monitor that, while Bruno Fernandes is out suspended after accumulating yellow cards along with Liverpool’s Andy Robertson following his recent red card.
