Henderson had to be replaced in the 80th minute due to the issue, which Liverpool confirmed would require him to undergo scans to ascertain the damage.
The incident occurred when Henderson collided with Brighton’s Yves Bissouma under a heavy challenge, which left the England international worse off.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: “I don’t know (how serious it is), I don’t know, honestly.
“I didn’t see the situation back on the pitch, but I know that it will not be nothing, probably.
“That’s how it is, but we have to wait. I cannot say more.”
Henderson had netted Liverpool’s second goal in the win, after Mohamed Salah opened the scoring following an error from Davy Propper.
Leandro Trossard pulled one back on half-time with a superb volley, but Salah settled the contest with a third in the 76th minute from Andy Robertson’s corner, before Henderson limped off.
When asked if Henderson is on crutches, Klopp added: “I have had press since the game is over so I have no idea how he left the dressing room.”
The Liverpool captain will therefore be a major doubt for the Reds’ next game against Burnley on Saturday.
Liverpool will be presented with the Premier League trophy in their final home game of the season against Chelsea on Wednesday 22 July.
Irrespective of injury, Henderson will be there to lift the trophy with his teammates, but the potential injury is a sour note to celebrate.
