The son of a legendary seven-time Formula One World Champion, Mick Schumacher is a racing driver competing under Formula One for Hass. The young driver is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy and had one championship title including the 2020 Formula 2 Championship and 2018 FIA F3 European Championship. His first competition race under Formula One happened during the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2021.
Schumacher’s racing career began in 2008. He used his mother’s maiden name during the beginning of his career to avoid the unnecessary attention derived from having a very famous father. From 2011 to 2014, he joined karting and competed in national and international championships, placing second in the Junior Kart Championship of Germany.
During the end part of 2014, Schumacher began to test drive for Jenzer Motorsport under ADAC Formula 4. By 2016, he won the runner-up position during the Italian F4 Championship while he was driving for the Prema Powerteam. In the same year, he announced his participation in the Ferrari Driving Academy and became a test driver for the brand new SF90 of Scuderia Ferrari. In 2020, he landed the first-place position after winning 2 races and 10 podiums.
Schumacher signed a multi-year contract with Haas in 2021 right after the end of the Formula One season that took place in Abu Dhabi. This contract made him an official racing driver under Formula One.
In terms of personal life, Schumacher was born and raised in Switzerland to racing parents and relatives. His mother was a champion horse racer. He also has an uncle who was a retired Formula One racing driver. He openly shares how he idolizes his dad, Michael Schumacher.
