The editor of the German magazine that published an AI-Generated interview of Michael Schumacher has been sacked.

The magazines publisher has also apologized to the Formula 1 Drivers family.

Schumacher suffered severe head injuries from a skiing accident back in December 2013. He has not been seen in public since and his family has been very protective of the former F1 drivers privacy.

The magazine in question Die Aktuelle, ran a headline saying Michael Schumacher, first interview with a photo of a smiling Schumacher on its cover.

It turns out that the interview was generated using an AI tool.

Schumachers family then proceeded to start taking legal action against the magazine for what they published.

The family is very private and in their 2021 Netflix documentary, his wife Corinna said:

ā€œWe live together at home. We do therapy. We do everything we can to make Michael better and to make sure he’s comfortable, and simply make him feel our family, our bond.

ā€œWe’re trying to carry on as a family, the way Michael liked it and still does. And we are getting on with our lives.

ā€œā€˜Private is private’, as he always said. It’s very important to me that he can continue to enjoy his private life as much as possible. Michael always protected us, and now we are protecting Michael.ā€
