Henry Cejudo, nicknamed ‘The Messenger’, is a professional mixed martial arts fighter. In 2008, he won an Olympic Gold Medal in Beijing for Wrestling while representing the United States. He also has a number of Pan American Championship gold medals in wrestling. Cejudo also held an Ultimate Fighting Championship title and is the only athlete to hold both an Olympic gold medal and a UFC title.

Career

He turned pro as an MMA fighter in March 2013. His first opponent was Michael Poe for the World Fighting Federation. He won that fight and he went on to have four more wins in 2013, and two in 2014. In December 2014, he joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

His first UFC opponent was Dustin Kimura. He won against Kimura. In 2015, he had three fights, all wins, in the UFC against Chris Cariaso, Chico Camus, and Jussier Formiga. His first loss in the UFC came in April 2016. He followed this with another loss against Joseph Benavidez in December 2016.

From 2017 to May 2020, he was undefeated in the UFC. Some of his most notable opponents include Wilson Reis, Sergio Pettis, TJ Dillashaw, and Marion Moraes. His last fight in the UFC was against Dominick Cruz. He won that fight.
