Khabib Nurmagomedov, nicknamed ‘The Eagle’, is a former mixed martial arts fighter from Russia with an undefeated record of 29 matches and 29 wins. He is best known for having held the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Lightweight Title for the longest time from April 2018 to March 2021. Career
Undefeated fighter Nurmagomedov started his professional career with his first fight in September 2008 against Vusal Bayramov. It was for the Combat Sambo Federation of Ukraine.
He did not join the UFC until 2012. In the time before that, he fought for Professional Fighting Championships, M-1 Global, Tsumada Fighting Championship, and Pancration Atrium. Some of his more notable opponents at the time include Magomed Magomedov, Said Akhmed, and Ali Bagov.
Nurmagomedov made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut in January 2012. His first fight was against Kamal Shalorus. He quickly became a favorite and took down fighters such as Thiago Tavares, Darrell Horcher, Edson Barboza, Al Iaquinta, Conor McGregor, and more. His last fight before retirement was against Justin Gaethje. It was a title card fight held in October 2020.
