Laura Alexandra Marsh got her big break of playing for the England women’s cricket team in 2006. Another bowler, Nicola Shaw suffered an injury and Marsh was called to join the team in a match against India.

Nicola started playing for her school at the tender age of 11. She is currently playing for England, as well as manages her course of Sports Science with Management at the Loughborough University.

Marsh is currently playing as a bowler for the Sussex team since joining them in 2003. Currently Marsh is an off-spinner in the England women’s cricket team but started her career as a medium pacer. Marsh was a part of the England women’s cricket team that had taken part in the Ashes series in 2008. The 2009 Women’s World Cup saw her make a career highest of 5 wickets for 15 runs against Pakistan. She earned the honor of being the topmost wicket-taker for the Championship, taking 16 wickets at an average of 10.31.

England was victorious against New Zealand at Lords in 2008. Marsh shone through the tournament by taking 6 wickets for 68 runs. She proved a match-winner for England when she scored the much-needed runs in a match against Australia in 2009.

For the Ashes series in 2009, Marsh scored her best yet at Test matches of 38 runs.
