Oscar Manuel Collazo was born on January 15, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey. The Puerto Rican fighter is 157 cm tall and has a wingspan of 155 cm. He has a nickname of "El Pupilo", which means “The Ward”.He has competed in the Mini Flyweight division throughout his professional tenure. He fights from a southpaw position and operates out of Villalba, Puerto Rico. As an amateur, he won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima.
Career
Collazo began his professional campaign in February 2020 with a third-round TKO victory. He made history in May 2023 by defeating Melvin Jerusalem via seventh-round stoppage to win the WBO Mini-Flyweight Title in just his seventh pro fight, becoming the fastest Puerto Rican boxer to become a World Champion.In November 2024, Collazo traveled to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a historic unification bout against the long-reigning WBA champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong (Knockout CP Freshmart). Collazo scored a seventh-round knockout to capture the WBA (Super) and Ring Magazine titles, solidifying his status as the division's top fighter.
He continued his dominant run in 2025 with successful title defenses. In March 2025, he stopped Edwin Cano Hernandez in the fifth round in Cancun, Mexico. He followed this with a seventh-round TKO victory over Jayson Vayson in September 2025 to retain his unified titles.
