Career

Moloney began his professional campaign in October 2014. As an amateur, he won a gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

He captured the interim WBA Super Flyweight Title in November 2019 by stopping Elton Dharry and was later elevated to WBA (Regular) Champion. He lost the title in 2020 to Joshua Franco in a close decision, leading to a trilogy of fights that included a controversial No Contest and another decision loss.

In May 2023, he challenged for the vacant WBO Super Flyweight Title but was stopped in the final round by Junto Nakatani in a Fight Of The Year candidate.

After a split decision loss to Pedro Guevara for the interim WBC Title in May 2024, Moloney briefly retired but returned to the ring in December 2024 with a knockout victory over Jakrawut Majungoen.
