Al Harrington

Al Harrington is a former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He has played for NBA teams including Indiana Pacer, Atlanta Hawks, Orlando Magic, and the Washington Wizards. He also played internationally for the Fujian Sturgeons and the Sydney Kings.

Albert Harrington was born on February 17, 1980, in Orange, New Jersey in the United States of America. He stands 206 cm tall and his weight was last listed at 111 kg. He played power forward.

After his retirement, he became involved in the production of cannabis products, even partnering with Allen Iverson.

High School Career

He attended St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In 1998, he was named a McDonald’s All-American, Naismith Prep Player of the Year, USA Today Player of the Year, and the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

Professional Career

He turned pro during the 1998 NBA Draft and was a first-round pick, selected by the Indiana Pacers as 25th overall. He played with the Pacers through to 2004 then he signed with the Atlanta Hawks in 2004, before signing with the Pacers again in 2006.

In 2007, he signed with the Golden State Warriors. From 2008 to 2010, he played for the New York Knicks. Between 2010 and 2014, he played for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, and Washington Wizards.

Before finally retiring, he played in China and Australia. The last time he played professionally was in 2015.

In 2022, he started coaching and he was the Assistant Coach for the Cape Town Tigers in South Africa.
