He also played in the Jordan Brand Classic and the Nike Hoop Summit that year. In 2021, Holmgren also represented the United States internationally and he was named the FIBA Under-19 World Cup MVP.
Holmgren was also named Minnesota Mr. Basketball and the National High School Player of the Year that year. In 2022, he was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Year and the WCC Newcomer of the Year.
Professional Career
Holmgren turned pro in 2022 and was selected 2nd overall in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft, selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder. He has played for the Thunder since 2022.He made his regular season debut in October 2023 and in December 2023, he was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Month.
