He attended Legend High School in Parker, Colorado. He played a combo guard and was six feet tall by the time he graduated.He was lightly recruited and initially started to play for the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. He played with the school from 2012 to 2015. He later transferred to play for the University of Colorado. He was there from 2016 to 2017. While there, he was named to the First-team All-Pac-12.
Professional Career
White was drafted into the NBA in 2017. He was a first-round pick by the San Antonio Spurs who selected him as the 29th overall pick. He played with them during the 2017 NBA Summer League and he made his NBA debut in October of that year. In April 2018, he made his NBA Playoffs debut.In October 2018, he had a left plantar fascia tear. Early in his career with the Spurs, he played for their G League affiliate team, the Austin Spurs. In 2018, he was part of the team that won the NBA G League Championships.
In 2020, the team signed him to a contract extension. In 2022, the team traded him to the Boston Celtics.
In 2023, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team for the first time in his career. At the start of 2024, White still plays for the Celtics.
