Early Life and Education
Sheri grew up in a large family as the youngest of eight siblings, which fostered a competitive spirit. She attended Acadiana High School, where her talent in basketball began to shine. She went on to play for Vanderbilt University, where she graduated in 1996 with a degree in human and organizational development. During her college career, she became one of the top players in the program's history, ranking third all-time in field goal percentage and sixth in rebounds. Sheri was a standout player, earning accolades such as Kodak All-American and All-SEC First Team in her senior year.Professional Career
Sheri began her professional journey in the American Basketball League (ABL), playing for the San Jose Lasers for three seasons. After the ABL folded, she was selected by the Orlando Miracle in the 1999 WNBA Draft as the 20th overall pick. Despite a brief stint with the Miracle, she found her footing with the Miami Sol, where she played from 2000 to 2002 until the team's disbandment.Her career continued with the Minnesota Lynx, who selected her in the 2003 Dispersal Draft. In a notable trade in 2004, she was sent to the Seattle Storm, where she celebrated a WNBA Championship after the Storm's victory over the Connecticut Sun in the Finals. Following the 2004 season, she signed with the Charlotte Sting, and later moved to the Indiana Fever and the Detroit Shock.
