Cheryl Ford is a former women basketball player who plays as the forward player for Detroit Shock. Cheryl Ford easily rose to fame because he was the daughter of former NBA players, Karl Malone and Bonita Ford. She also had a twin brother named Daryl, who used to play for Demetress Bell at the National Football League.
High School and College Career
Ford attended Summerfield High School where she played for the women’s basketball team. Because of her natural athleticism, she was hailed a WBCA All-American. When she went to college, she decided to play for Louisiana Tech University, where she was named to the Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention team and won the Western Athletic Conference “Player of the Year”.
Professional Career
After college, she decided to join the draft in 2003, where she was chosen as the Number 3 overall in the WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock. In 2003, she managed to win the WNBA Rookie of the Award and won the National Women’s Basketball League in Dallas. In 2007, she won the WNBA All-Star Game MVP Award.
