Career
In her early career, she mostly played in the ITF Circuit. She made her professional debut in 2004 but she did not make her first singles appearance in a Grand Slam until 2007.
In her maiden main draw Grand Slam appearance, she made it to the third round of the French Open. That same year, she made it to the second round of the US Open. In 2009, she made it to the semifinals of Roland Garros for the first time.
The next year, she was in the quarters of the US Open, and in 2011, she was also in the quarters of Wimbledon. Her best Grand Slam finish came in 2014 when she made it to the finals of the Australian Open. After that, she also made it to the quarterfinals of the 2015 Aussie Open, Wimbledon 2016 and 2018. In 2016, she won the WTA Tour Finals singles title. In 2017, she reached her singles career-high ranking of Number 4.
She retired from tennis at the end of the 2019 season.
