Ričardas Berankis is a Lithuanian professional tennis player, notable for being the first and only Lithuanian to enter the ATP top 50 rankings, making him the highest-ranked tennis player in his country's history.

Ričardas Berankis was born on June 21, 1990, in Vilnius, Lithuania. He stands 175 cm tall and he plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand. He currently splits his residence between Bradenton, Florida, and Vilnius.Early Life and Junior Career
Berankis was introduced to tennis at the age of two by his older sister, Lina. His first coach was Valdas Adomaitis. At age nine, he moved to the Šiauliai tennis school to train with Remigijus Balzekas, a long-term partnership that proved to be pivotal for his career.In 2004, Berankis dominated the Tennis Europe Junior Tour U14 circuit, winning six junior events. He concluded the year by winning prestigious titles at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters, the Junior Orange Bowl, and the Eddie Herr International Tennis Championships.
He continued his momentum on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2007, winning the US Open Junior title and defending his title at the Yucatán World Cup. His success led to him finishing the year as the world's No. 1 junior player.
Professional Career
Berankis turned professional in 2007. He achieved his career-high singles ranking of World No. 50 in May 2016. He reached two singles finals on the ATP Tour, at the Los Angeles Open in 2012 and at the Kremlin Cup in 2017.He has also had a strong presence in Grand Slam tournaments, reaching the third round of the Australian Open in 2011 and 2013, the French Open in 2021, and the US Open in 2020. He has competed at the Wimbledon Championships multiple times, reaching the second round.
In doubles, Berankis won one title on the ATP Tour and achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 139 in October 2015. He is also a prominent member of the Lithuania Davis Cup team and represented his country at the 2016 Olympic Games.
