Edgar Moon was a former tennis player who was born on December 3, 1904 in Forest Hill, NSW Australia. Moon was a right handed tennis player. He won his first national title during the 1929 Open in which he teamed up with Daphne Akhurst for the Mixed Doubles Championship. Moon only became popular after he won the Australian Championship in men’s single titles in 1930. And in the year 1932, he made another name for himself when he won another title together with Jack Crawford in Men’s Doubles in the Australian Championship.

Moon went on different streams of winnings; he then won another championship title when he teamed up with Joan Hartigan for the Mixed Doubles for the 1929 Open. During the previously mentioned 1930 Australian Open, Edgar Moon won the Australian Open’s Men’s Singles championship going against Harry Hopman with a score of 6-3-6-1-6-3.

This Queensland native then decided to compete for another title and this is for the Men’s Double still with the same Jack Crawford.

Edgar Moon made a lot of people from his native place, Queensland, proud of all his accomplishments. Though the competition was tough and there were already a lot of tennis players on the line for different championship titles, still Moon made a name. He was still continuously under the limelight for most of the tennis enthusiast, even after his death in 1976 at the age of 72.
