Ofner was born on May 12, 1996 in Bruck an der Mur in Austria. He still lists Austria as his residence, but he now lives in Sankt Marein im Mürztal.
Coached by Stefan Rettl and Wolfgang Thiem, he is a right-handed player with a two-handed backhand. Since he turned pro in 2015, he has earned more than US$1.3 Million. He also worked with Coach Alexander Peya in 2019.

Career
After turning pro, Ofner did not make his ATP debut until 2017 at that year’s Wimbledon. He made it through the qualifying rounds, besting players including Jay Clarke. During the main draw, he beat Jack Sock and Thomas Bellucci.
In August 2017, he played in the Generali Open Kitzbühel. He made it to the semi-finals before he lost to Joao Sousa.
From 2017 to 2021, he struggled to make it past the qualifying rounds in the Grand Slams. But in 2023, he made it through the fourth round in Roland Garros, which led him to reach his career-high singles ranking of Number 69.
In Wimbledon that year, he also made it to the main draw.
