When he was a junior player, he made it into the Top 75. Kopřiva turned pro in 2015 but he did not make his ATP Tour debut until 2021. This was at the Swiss Open Gstaad. There, he achieved one of the biggest wins of his career, when he bested Denis Shapovalov.
Kopřiva was then ranked at No.294 and Shapovalov was in the top 10. This made Kopřiva the first lowest-ranked player to defeat a top 10 player since 2017.
