Gregoire Barrere is a French professional tennis player. In October 2019, he reached a career-high ranking of No.80, which placed him firmly within the Top 100 of the ATP world rankings. This came after a stellar year where he made second-round finishes at three of the four Grand Slam events and made it to the finals of that year’s New Orleans Open.

Grégoire Barrère was born on February 16, 1994 in his hometown of Charenton-le-Pont, France. He still resides in France but Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. He was last listed as weighing 80 kg and he is reported to be 183 cm tall. With a two-handed backhand, he is a right-handed player.

His parents are Alain and Sylvie. He started playing tennis at age 5. He has said that he models his gameplay on Marat Safin and Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Career

In 2016, he was given a wildcard to play in the French Open. That year, he also participated in the qualifiers for the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. He first broke into the Top 100 of the rankings in September 2019. That year, he also won his first ATP Tour win.

One of the biggest wins of his professional career came in 2020 when he bested Grigor Dimitrov in the second round at Montpellier.
