Ernesto Escobedo
Ernesto Escobedo is a professional tennis player who was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Escobedo had learned to play tennis when he was 4 years old, as his father, Ernesto Jr, was a former tennis player. His aunt was also a professional tennis player who has once competed in the 1998 Olympics.
Professional Career Debut
Escobedo debuted at the ATP Challenger in Sao Paulo as one of the players who have reached the final round. Because of this sudden success, he was named as the 7th American teenager to reach the Challenger final.He also joined the Aegon Open to mark his first ATP match. He won against Diego Schwartzman. He also successfully won a title at Lexington open when he defeated Frances Tiafoe. Because of his wins, it gave him a ticket to the 2016 US Open Wild Card Challenge, where he defeated Lukas Lacko.
Continuous Success
In February 2018, Escobedo qualified for the Abierto Mexicano Telcel and won against Jack Sock. By the following month, he joined the Indian Wells Masters and defeated Tiafoe again, before losing to Feliciano Lopez.In 2020, Escobedo became inactive because of the global pandemic's effect on sports. He only returned to the 2020 US Open as an alternate player. He was also qualified for the 2021 Miami Open and 2022 Bendigo International.
