Wang debuted as a professional tennis player during a $10K event in Anning, as she had received a wildcard entry. Even though she lost during her debut, there was still a huge improvement when she reached the semifinal of another $10K event the following week. In 2018, her breakthrough performance was during the $60K Burnie International. She had also won her first title at the Zhengzhou Open after she won against Naomi Brady.

She debuted at the Miami Open last March 2019 and had only reached the second round. By the following month, she competed at a $25K event in Osaka and reached the final round. She also won the ITF title in La Bisbal D'emporda by beating Dalma Galfi in the final round. Her success in the ITF Women's Circuit helped her build confidence to reach the main draw at the 2019 US Open. However, she lost to Kirsten Flipkens.
