Wang Xinyu is a Chinese professional tennis player who reached a career-high WTA singles ranking of World No. 32 on October 9, 2023. She is currently one of China’s top-ranked players. Wang has captured four WTA doubles titles, including the 2023 French Open women’s doubles crown with Hsieh Su-wei.
She also won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2024 Summer Olympics with Zhang Zhizhen.

Wang Xinyu was born on September 26, 2001, in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, and currently resides in Hangzhou. Standing 182 cm tall, she plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand.She began playing tennis at age five, coached by her father, Wang Peng, a former professional player and national team coach. Her mother was a professional basketball player. Wang’s role model is Li Na, and she describes herself as “peace and love.”
Junior Career
Wang enjoyed a successful junior career, winning the girls’ doubles titles at the 2018 Australian Open and Wimbledon. She reached the semifinals in singles at both events and was a junior Grand Slam champion in doubles.Wang made her Grand Slam main draw debut at the 2018 Australian Open after winning the Asia-Pacific Wildcard Playoff.
Career
Since turning professional in 2018, Wang Xinyu has steadily risen through the ranks.She made her WTA main draw debut the same year and claimed her first WTA doubles title in Nanchang in 2019. Her singles breakthrough came in 2023, reaching the fourth round at the US Open and the third round at Roland Garros.
In 2024, Wang reached the fourth round at Wimbledon, defeating World No. 5 Jessica Pegula for her first top-10 win, and made her first WTA 1000 singles semifinal at Wuhan. In doubles, she won the 2023 French Open and reached the semifinals at the 2023 US Open.
Wang also won a silver medal in mixed doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Zhang Zhizhen.
