Varvara Petrivna Lepchenko is a professional tennis player who was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on May 21, 1986. Lepchenko is coached by her father, Peter, and has been living in the United States since 2001. She switched nationalities to American on September 2007, and has become a US Citizen since 2011. Lepchenko is multilingual, speaking fluent Russian and English.

Lepchenko made her first appearance at the WTA qualifying during an event at Tashkent in 2000. Although she struggled for a few years, Lepchenko was able to reach her first Top 100 season in 2006. It would take her four more years before she could repeat her performance and reach the Top 100 once more. In 2010, she was able to win singles titles in the ITF Circuit, and went as far as the quarterfinals at Ponte Vedra Beach.

Her breakthrough season was thought to be in 2012, when she rose through the ranks and landed at No. 21. Lepchenko also had impressive performances at the tournaments during the said year. However, she was not able to maintain her pace, and slipped a little the next year and hovered around the Top 50.

She reached the quarterfinal at both Stanford and Brussels in 2013, leading to a world ranking of 53. In 2014, she reached the quarterfinal at Luxembourg and Tianjin, the semifinal at Stanford, and was runner-up at Seoul—finishing at world rank 36. Lepchenko reached the semifinals at Stanford and Brisbane in the next season and finished at number 46.

While she performed well up to the quarterfinal at Tokyo, Nurnberg, and Brisbane, she slipped to world number 87 in 2016. She reached the semifinal at Rabat and ended the 2017 season with a number 62 ranking.

Since turning pro, Lepchenko has a career record of 534 victories and 406 losses. She has won 12 ITF career titles in singles. The highest rank she achieved in the singles division was at No. 19 in October 1, 2012. Currently, she is ranked at number 117 as of July 29, 2019.

In doubles, she has a career record of 106 victories and 151 losses. Varvara Petrivna Lepchenko also has 1 ITF career title in doubles.
