Benoit Paire is a French professional tennis player. He has a career-high singles ranking of No.18, which he achieved in January 2016. As a doubles player, he was also ranked No.65 in November 2021. One of the best Grand Slam finishes of his career was the quarterfinals of the Australian Open men’s doubles event in 2013.

He has been playing professionally since 2007 and since then, he has earned a little over US$9.6 Million in prize money.

Career

Early in his professional career, Paire mostly played in Futures and Challenger events. He later transitioned to ATP Level events and by 2011, he had broken into the Top 100 of the ATP rankings. This year, he made more ATP appearances than any other time in his pro career.

In 2012, he reached his first ATP Tour singles finals. This was at the Heineken Open which was held in Auckland. The following year in the Australian Open, he made the best Grand Slam finish of his career when he landed in the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles. At the time, he was paired with Thomaz Bellucci. The pair lost to Spanish players Marc Lopez and Marcel Granollers.

In 2014, he landed in the fourth round of the men’s singles event in the Aussie Open. He would do the same in 2017 and most recently in 2022. Paire won his first ATP Tour singles title in 2015, this was at the Swedish Open where he beat Tommy Robredo. 2016 saw him reach his career-high singles ranking of No.18. In 2017, he made it into the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the second time in his career at Wimbledon. The first time this happened was in 2015 at the US Open.

In 2019, he would appear in the fourth round of the Grand slams, twice. Once at Roland Garros and again at the All-England Club. This year, he also went on to win his third ATP singles title, at the Grand Prix Hassan II. In 2020, he reached the Top 100 in the doubles ranking, and in November 2021, he reached his career-high doubles ranking of No.65. In 2022, he again made it to the third round of the Aussie Open.
