The Williams sisters, tennis superstars Venus Williams and Serena Williams are now closer to winning their 10th doubles title. The girls made their last U.S. Open doubles match on 1999 and will be returning this year against Cara Black and Liezel Huber. “Good to make the final again. Encouraging and very cool,” Serena Williams said.

If the Williamses wins it this year, they will reach half of the record made by Pam Shriver and Martina Navratilova from the 1980s and early 1990s.

“Hopefully, that’s a record that won’t end yet,” Serena said. “We really want this. I’m sure whoever we play really wants it, too.”

On the first set of the match, the Serena Williams finished it off with a four straight serves.

“I just said, ‘OK, I’m going to hit two aces here, four aces actually,”’ she said. “That’s pretty much how I felt and I did it. I thought, this is ridiculous. I’ve got to get these aces and get myself out of this situation.”

However, the Russians creamed the sisters in the second round. On the third set, Serena and Venus were able to roll it back up and made a 6-2 victory.
